The Mar contract picked up 36 points post the release of strong US export sales data, settling at 62.45 – a 104 point gain on the week. The settlement was within the upper one half of the trading range. The May contract gained 37 points settling at 62.83, the net effect leaving the Mar – May spread near unchanged at (38). Volume slowed for Mar delivery at 12K contracts while Mar OI expanded at just above 116K contracts. Gaps remain above the market on the front month continuation chart at 63.91 – 63.97, 66.75 – 66.91, 67.36 – 67.39 and at 77.80 – 78.00 and below the market at 60.14 – 60.20. Dec futures gained 39 points at 62.75.
